Pro Bono & Community Impact

At THE BOIES LAW FIRM, our commitment to justice extends beyond our paying clients. We believe that access to quality legal representation should not be reserved only for those who can afford it. For this reason, we dedicate a portion of our practice to strategic pro bono work — cases that create meaningful, lasting change, particularly in underrepresented and minority communities.
We focus our pro bono efforts where they can have the greatest impact, including:
- Advancing civil rights protections for individuals and communities facing systemic discrimination.
- Partnering with nonprofit organizations to defend the rights of African-American, Haitian, immigrant, and other minority communities.
- Representing victims in police misconduct and unlawful detention cases.
- Providing counsel in employment discrimination matters under Title VII and other landmark laws.
- Advocating for fair labor practices in wage theft, FLSA, and New York Labor Law cases.
- Supporting community-based initiatives that promote equity, education, and economic empowerment.
How We Approach Pro Bono Work
Our pro bono work is selective and strategic. We do not accept walk-in or general requests for free legal services. Instead, we collaborate with established legal aid organizations, advocacy groups, and other law firms to identify matters that align with our mission and where our legal expertise can make a significant difference.
By partnering with these organizations, we are able to contribute to impact litigation and advocacy that:
- Changes policies and laws for the better.
- Protects vulnerable individuals from abuse and exploitation.
- Expands access to justice for historically underserved communities.
Our Commitment
Founder and trial attorney Jerry Boies has long believed that "fostering an environment free of discrimination is good for everyone." That belief extends to our pro bono practice. We will continue to use our skills, resources, and experience to fight for fairness and justice. not just in the courtroom, but in the lives of those who need it most.
Please Note: The Boies Law Firm does not accept unsolicited pro bono requests from the public. All pro bono matters are taken on through partnerships with recognized nonprofit legal organizations and referrals from community advocacy groups.
